Celebrate Deer Stencil Card

I am joining in the celebration at 3 Clover Thursday with this card I made for a man's birthday. Both the background and the deer are made with stencils- the deer with black paste and glitter and the background with stencil spray. Hope you like it!

Transparency Card

Posted by Picasa

There is a stamp shop in northern Wisconsin which prints beautiful photos on acetate and sells them for card making. I will be showing alot of cards using them as I just love the look. Visit www.themark-itplace.com to see their selection.

This card is simple but elegant. Simply layer a brown cuttlebugged piece onto a yellow card. Attach the pix with corner outline stickers to a slightly larger yellow piece and attach to the card.

Easy Thinking of You Card

I find myself using more and more patterned paper in my cards. Used to be I only used it for paper piecing, then I started scrapping and my collection grew. I started looking at patterned paper for card making too, and now my collection is huge! Here is a simple card that uses two layers of coordinated paper and a diecut butterfly from the patterned paper to make a simple but nice "Thinking of you" card.

Engagement or Wedding Card

Posted by Picasa

This is the card I sent to my son and his fiance' - wow I love the sound of that! We are going to have a wedding! Not sure when, but we are very happy for them.

It's Christmas Day but my family is all coming tomorrow- can't wait. Better for travel then because Wisconsin is having freezing rain and snow depending on where you are. So Merry Christmas to all!

Easel Christmas Card

This is my primary Christmas card this year that I sent out to all my relatives and friends and shared with my stamper's club at my local stamp shop. It is an easel card, so will stand up using the pearl and snowflake inside. The stamps and paper are by CTMH, and I also used diecuts and punches and nestabilities snowflake border.

I am off this week and so my goal before the kids come home for Christmas is to try to get some of my cards posted and start getting this blog going.

Hope you are enjoying this holiday week with family and friends.

Spread the Love for Jaimie

I came across a request for handmade cards to be sent to a special girl who is hurting right now because of a family tragedy. This is the card I sent to her.

Here is a summary.... "On October 4th, 4 teenagers armed with knives broke into a home in a small town in New Hampshire. Alone and sleeping inside were a mother and her 11 year old daughter. These 4 boys broke into this home with the intent to rob and kill anyone inside. They stabbed the mom, Kimberly Cates, to death and left her daughter, Jaimie, for dead in their driveway. It was a completely random act, their home was chosen only due to its secluded surroundings." Our hope is that everyone hopping around today will stop for a moment and think about Jaimie and her father and what life must be like for them now. One moment in time has changed their lives forever. We are asking that everyone reading this message please take a moment to make a card and send it off to Jaimie. You can make something very simple or much more involved, but please share some words of hope and love and let her know that people do care and want the best for her. Please send your card to the address below: Jaimie Cates c/o Mont Vernon Fire Station Main Street Mont Vernon, NH 03057 Please visit "Stamp Something...for Jaimie: Spreading Love and Hope" site to read more about Jaimie and join the special Card Drive Challenge. There are many generous sponsors who have kindly offered up some prizes to anyone who makes a card, posts it on their blogs, and lets us know they mailed it out.

My blog is not really ready for business yet so please be understanding if this post doesn't look too professional yet. But I wanted to participate because it makes me proud to be part of a community that will try to help someone in need of our love and a thoughtful card in the mail. I always say: I've never met a stamper I didn't like and this is proof!

The card was made with a brass stencil and white stencil paste mixed with violet pearlex and sprinkled with violet glitter before it dried. Saying cut with nestabilities and just add a ribbon.

Just have to share one more thing: got a wonderful surprise in the mail yesterday- a preview issue of the newest Scrap and Stamp Arts (Jan 2010) because they published another article of mine! Pages 40-41. So cool!
